Quality Assurance

 

NEBCO is a distributor of products from the very best manufacturers from across the UK and Europe. Our racking suppliers are accredited to ISO9001:2008, the internationally recognised standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS). Their systems are maintained by Quality Departments which consists of both Group Quality and Integrated Systems Managers and Quality Engineers / System Technicians.

The quality teams have many years of experience in quality assurance and hold or are working towards the following qualifications:

  • CQI Diploma in Quality Assurance.
  • Level 3 NVQ in Quality Improvement Techniques.
  • Quality System Internal Auditor.


A number of quality tools are employed by the Quality Department. These include Capability Studies, SPC, Poka Yoke, Pareto Analysis, and Control Plans. Customer satisfaction is vitally important to us and offering high-quality products and services helps us to achieve this. The focus for the Quality Department is on continual improvement, this applies to both the products produced by the business and the internal quality system. To achieve this goal clear and precise objectives are set that are monitored from their commencement through to their conclusion.

Internal audits are carried out on a regular basis and used as a tool to self-police our QMS and ensure that rigid controls are maintained so that our system continues to conform to ISO9001:2008. Prevention and identification of non-conformance during our processes is a key consideration of our QMS. Any issues result in the introduction of robust corrective actions to eliminate the cause of the non-conformity with assigned responsibilities and timescales for implementation. The analysis of process trends allows us to determine appropriate preventive actions to eliminate future non-conformance. Consequently, non-conformities in products we deliver are very rare. On receipt of all products to the site, assembly checks are routinely conducted to ensure all products meet specifications.

Monitoring and measurement of products and processes are carried out using a variety of statistical techniques. This allows us to monitor our current and ongoing performance. As we have delivered our services over the years we have nurtured a culture of ‘quality awareness’ through the use of our accredited QMS. This system is embedded in all of our manufacturing processes to ensure that our products not only meet customer specifications but comply with the industry codes of practice to which we adhere. On an annual basis, our QMS is fully reviewed by all Senior Management enabling us to fully appreciate our performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
